Ali Borowick and Lauren Borowick the sibling Co-Founders of Fatty Sundays step on to the New York Launch Pod to discuss their delicious, gourmet chocolate covered pretzels.

Inspired by their mother’s recipes, Ali and Lauren set out on a journey to bring their favorite snacks, the chocolate covered pretzel, to the world.  The sisters first started developing their own recipes and giving out samples to friends and family.  Realizing that their creations were disappearing just as quickly as they made them, Ali and Lauren decided to start Fatty Sundays.  Ali quit her job and as a graphic designer and Lauren quit her job as an accountant.

The two set out to create the most delicious and well-designed gourmet pretzels.  What makes a chocolate covered pretzel well designed?  Well, for one the pretzel isn’t completely covered in chocolate so you don’t have to get your hands dirty while eating it, according to Lauren. That, combined with delicious toppings, beautiful sprinkles and eye-catching packaging makes the Fatty Sundays experience one that has garnered incredible success.   What started as a company from a home kitchen has grown to the Union Square Holiday Market and now has a national distribution with a team of 10 employees in Brooklyn making several thousand pretzels a day across 12 flavors (and gluten free options).

Listen to the episode to hear how the business has grown, what it’s like for the sisters to be working together, how the name Fatty Sundays came to be and a whole lot more!
